A true photographer knows that technique is important, but the right subject is absolutely essential. You have to be interested in what you’re photographing in order for the passion to come through. Otherwise it just becomes a mechanical exercise where all of the fun is drained away. Whether you photograph professionally or as a hobby, it’s important to inspire yourself whenever possible. One of the most interesting subjects that doesn’t get as much attention as it should happens to be food.
Most photographers focus on people or places as and their subjects. While there’s nothing wrong with this, photographing art itself can be incredibly fun as well. After all, the human experience is intrinsic in art and there’s no better example than food. Food is an art after all because it’s an expression of love and personal creativity. Through food you see a person’s passion, interest, and history blended into one. No one prepares dishes the same way, and subtle nuances can make a tremendous amount of difference both in taste and presentation.
There are many aspects of food that can be appreciated, and obviously taste is number one. But let’s not forget that food be appreciated on a visual level as well. The way food looks and is presented plays an incredible role in the overall experience. And in essence, that’s exactly what photography is meant to capture. With food as your subject matter, you can get some great shots that affect people in so many ways. You can create excitement, hunger, desire, or trigger long-standing memories. You can also create a tremendous amount of interest in food that people have never even seen before.
One of the best things about using food as a photography subject is you can do everything yourself. You don’t have to rely on a model to show up on time or for the perfect lighting during the day. You can create your own food at any time you like, and you’ll have the perfect subject that will be there for you the whole time. So whether it’s a fresh desert prepared within ice cream maker, or a perfectly grilled burger off your barbecue, there’s no shortage of wonderful dishes you can shoot. With time and experienced you might be able to get people to see aspects of common food that they have never realized.
Looking for a gift for that women in your life that more or less has everything? How about art? Art is something that very few people ever think of giving as a Holiday gift, but it’s one of the most beautiful gifts you could give.
It forces you to think outside your comfort zone about what the individual would love and also speaks to how well you know them.
Think about it, if you’re buying something for your wife or significant other you don’t want to just line up at the cosmetic counter with every other husband out there for the latest wrinkle cream or buy her yet another bath robe. Put your mind to work and get her a piece of art.
Here are a few tips to help get you going
Think about her interests. Does she like to sew, knit, cook? Any of these things could be a clue as to what theme you might want to seek out for a piece of art.
Look at sites such as Etsy.com or Art.com. These sites house a massive amount of paintings, photographs and prints. For instance at Etsy you can literally just plug in a keyword of something you know their interested in and be presented with a bunch of unique gift ideas.
Start early. Don’t leave shopping for a piece of art til the last minute. You could end up having to purchase something you don’t feel 100% about, but don’t have time to continue to look around.
There are many ways to decorate the walls of a room. A good coat of the right paint color, wall sconce lighting, a decorative clock, an artful mirror or some sort of metal wall art or wall sculptures will bring out personality in a room. I have used all of these techniques and more in the past when decorating for myself or for others asking for suggestions.
Out of all these forms of wall art there is one decorative wall item that always come to mind when I think of ways to bring true elegance to a room. The only art form that has the ability to take a room to the next level and beyond. No matter what particular theme is presented in a room, there is a wall tapestry to match the theme with pristine beauty.
Tapestries have been around for many centuries, but this form of art never grows old. In the beginning tapestries were all hand woven. Because of this, tapestries were only for the financially well off. Down through the centuries, with the invention of machines that do the work of the hand made versions, tapestries have become affordable for all. Because of modern day mass production, with quality never before seen, you have a virtually limitless choice when it comes to styles, themes, colors and sizes.
So you have a good understanding of your options when searching for the perfect classic tapestry to add to the ambiance of a room in your home, I will provide you with information on, for the most part, what is available to you when pursuing the classic tapestry of your dreams.
In order to do this, I will go over Types, Art Styles and Subject Matter that wall tapestries are available in. Once I present you with each of these topics. I will give you examples of what is available in each category.
I’m going to start out with types of tapestries available. You have Chenille, Metallic, Oversized, Sets, Textured, Trimmed and Wool to choose from.
• Chenille is a soft tufted cord of silk, cotton, or worsted used in weaving quality tapestries.
• Metallic tapestries are woven using cotton yarn with gold or silver accents.
• Oversized tapestries are woven using pure cotton yarn.
• Sets are tapestries that are sold in pairs.
• Textured tapestries are pure cotton yarn and finished in a textured accent such as leathurized or quilted.
• Trimmed tapestries are finished with either glass beading, tassels or fringed tassels.
• Wool tapestries are actually a blend of wool and cotton yarns.
Next we will take a look at Art Styles. The choices in Art Styles you have are Country Art, Fine Art and Vintage Art.
• Country Art features domestic and barnyard animals in quaint country scenes. You will also find country cupboards, snowmen, Santa Clause, old farm scenes and animals of the forest and woodlands.
• Fine Art tapestries are recreations of famous paintings by artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, Paul Ranson, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Edgar Degas, Georges Seurat, Leonardo da Vinci, Claude Monet, Sandro Botticelli, Jan Vermeer, Robert Duncan and others in which their artwork has been recreated on wall tapestries.
• Vintage Art tapestries recreations of early 20th century poster art woven into a wall tapestry. These poster tapestries range from extravagant theater costumes to fine wine poster advertisements, from Rosie the Riveter to famous French champagne poster advertisements woven into wall tapestries.
Classic wall tapestries add charm and elegance to the room in which they hang. Adding one of these tapestries to a room in your home will give your environment a feel of tranquil serenity.

Try www.vongo.com since they let you watch movies right from your computer. You they let you download and watch all the movies you want. You need a credit card to sign up though. Of course there are also illegal ways of obtaining movies, but I’d rather not say.
Who designed the cover art for the album Riot! by Paramore?
I think that album artwork is really original and i really need a designer for my graphics class, and if i haven’t had nay luck finding who designed it yet. Can someone please help me?
Maybe the band did it, that’s why you can’t find who did it. Usually they give credit to the artist, but if it was themselves no credit needs to be given.
It doesn’t look too hard to make just looks time consuming. Check this video out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWjM3YUYl0Y
Is there a decent amateur printer to make black and white digital photos?
There are some “pro” printers, made by Epson and others, that make very good black and white prints from digital photos. But they cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars, well beyond my budget.
The usual home printers and printer docks that I’ve seen in the $100 dollar range do well with color photos, but just can’t make a decent black and white print – they appear “washed out” (low contrast) and have a bluish cast instead of making true black.
Is it just having a printer that has the proper optimization to do black and white, or is there some software manipulations(s) I can try?
There are several printers available that have more than one black cartridge in them. My Epson R800 has matte black and photo black and it reproduces EXCELLENT black and white photographs. Unfortunately I don’t think there a printer like this for under $100.
I know that wasn’t how you wanted the question answered but it’s the way it is. Sorry.

Should I buy a polaroid camera like I’ve always wanted, or just let it go since they will stop manufacturing?
I’ve always wanted to buy a polaroid instant film camera, but now that they are discontinuing it, is it worth it? The camera is 40 (its a vintage SX-70), plus $15 for each set of 10 exposures. Is it worth it? Or should I buy another kind of cheap camera like a lomo? I guess you could produce similar affects not only through those cameras but through photoshop…
I heard polaroid is looking for someone to pick it up and they might not discontinue, or that fuji may be able to do it eventually.
Well, I have a good DSLR, and I want to buy a lomo in the future, but I am now the semi-proud owner of a vintage leather / fake steel polaroid SX-70. If I’m not happy with it, I’ll just sell it on ebay haha.
Hey kelsey, in my opinion, if you feel strongly enough about persuing something, you should go for it. I’ve been wanted a nikon d40 for months, and i thought that it was really expensive, but in the end i got it anyway because i wanted it, price doesn’t pay much role when desire comes into play.
I guess it would be fun to pick up instant imaging, at least you wouldn’t have to go back and forth to walmart to get pictures developed or printed, they’re there instanty, and you don’t have to lift a finger, literally. However, it may have its pros and its cons. They say that after a while, the polaroid pictures begin to fade, and become un-recognizable, which is factual in some respect. And the picture are quite small. If the polaroid is only fourty dollars, you shoud get it, and the film is like 15$ for 10, so that’s like 55$. The camera itself doesn’t seem expensive, but the film seems un-reasonably priced.
i think you should get it, and give it a try, but you should get a digital camera as a main camera. Digital is what’s hot right now. Digital is the way to go. There’s no guest work, no fixed focus, you can take as many pictures as you’d like, and you’re not crippled by any certain amount. You can go outside and tak one hundred pictures of yourself, and not worry about them going anywhere…
